Inaresto ng otoridad si Gabriela Cordillera council member Beatrice “Betty” Belen matapos makakuha ng search warrant.

Sa pinagsamang pwersa ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at 503rd Infantry Brigade ng Philippine Army, hinuli si Belen sa kanyang tahanan. 

Nakuha mula kay Belen ang mga armas at pampasabog. Itinanggi naman ni Belen na sa kanya ang mga armas.

Inalmahan ng human rights group ang pagkaka-aresto kay Belen. 

“The recent arrest of Beatrice Belen is a very clear example of the dangers of red-tagging, resulting in violations to the right to life, liberty and security of human rights defenders,” sabi Karapatan secretary general Cristina Palabay.

Para sa Gabriela, gawa-gawa lang daw ang kaso laban kay Belen.
