Hindi sang ayon si Bagong Alyansang Makabayan secretary general Renato Reyes Jr. sa “mandatory” na pagsusuot ng face shield sa mga pasahero ng mga pampublikong transportasyon dahil aniya marami ang walang pambili nito.

"Paano gagawing MANDATORY ang face shield kung maraming walang pambili at walang access sa face shields?" ayon kay Reyes sa isang Facebook post

"Buti sana kung may libreng face shield ang gobyerno. Kaso wala eh. Sana tinutulungan ang tao sa halip na dinadagdagan lang ang requirements," dagdag pa niya

Kamakailan lang ay inanunsyo ng Department of Transportation na simula Agosto 15, kailangan nang magsuot ng face shield at mask kung sasakay sa pampublikong transportasyon.

Ang pagsususot ng mask ay isang umanong precautionary measure na mungkahi rin ng Inter-Agency Task Force dahil patuloy pa rin ang pagtaas ng bilang ng mga COVID-19 cases sa bansa.

Nakiusap naman si Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade na huwag isipin ng mga tao na panibagong gastusin lang ang mandatory face shield  dahil mas mahalaga pa rin ang may proteksyon lalo na kalaban na hindi nakikita ng mata.

“What we are addressing is not a transport issue but rather a health issue. Kaya nga hinihingi ko ang kooperasyon ng bawat isa (That is why I am asking everyone to cooperate),” dagdag pa niya

Sinabi rin ni DOTr Undersecretary for Administrative Service Artemio Tuazon Jr, na istrikto itong ipapatupad sa mga lugar na pinapayagan na ang mga public transport.

Paglilinaw ng ahensa, bukod sa pagsusuot ng face shield ay dapat rin magsuot ang mga pasahero ng face mask at obserbahan ang physical distancing.

Samantala, magsisimula naman daw sa Agosto 7 ang pago-obliga sa mga pasahero ng barko.

Laman din umano ito ng memorandum na inilabas ng Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), Philippine Ports Authority at Philippine Coast Guard na ipinag-utos ang ‘No-Face-Shield-No-Ride” policy.
